Guest guest
Ok, this one is waaayyy off topic but I thought that I would throw it out there and see if anyone has any really good suggestions or ideas. I hang around a group of girls who have all been divorced. This Christmas, we want to have a " just the girls " Christmas party and would like to plan to have some activities that are interesting and different. I was wondering if anyone was willing to discuss something different that they did at a party in the past that they found to be sooo much fun. If it happens to be something a little risqué, you can email me off-list at db. We don't want to really do the regular get together where you sit around and talk and eat and drink. We would like to make it something more fun, interesting and memorable. We are open to any suggestions, no guarantees that we will follow through with some suggestions but we'd like to be able to have a whole list of activities which we could consider and then plan. Regardless of the suggestion there will be no judgement so if you have something kind of wild and woolly, or if you think your idea is too reserved don't discount it, suggest away. I think we will have fun just going over the suggestions and deciding which ones we want to actually do. Who knows perhaps we can make it an annual thing if there are enough suggestions. Thanks in advance for your input. Dorothy
Guest guest
Hello, You can put out ingredience for bath salts in pretty bowls and bottles - set up on a table and have everyone make their own individual scents. I didn't do this as a activity, but for my sisters baby shower I bought some empty clear glass christmas ornaments, filled them with potpourri scented with EO and prettied them up with some ribbon for a hanger and gave them as favors, everyone loved them and I still make them every year for teachers gift etc, even if people don't clebrate christmas they smell great and you can hang them anywhere all year long. my ideas are rated G if your looking for REAL fun how about pooling your $ and some male strippers;) Have a great time with the gals Gea , " Dorothy " <db@e...> wrote: > > > Ok, this one is waaayyy off topic but I thought that I would throw it out there and see if anyone has any really good suggestions or ideas. > > I hang around a group of girls who have all been divorced. Guest guest
Hi Dorothy, Sorry I wasn't clear, I didn't do the EO's at my sister baby shower, I pre-made the christmas balls as party favors she handed me a list of people to invite to make sure she got the gifts she wanted and all her in-laws are on Prozac- or should be -so it would have been a waste of time and money to do something fun- I just pre arranged for the husbands to drop off and pick up because everyone offered to bring the booze, no food, cake or anything to eat, just wine in a box- fun party! I saw the make your own bath salts on a spa like show awhile ago, and thought it was neat, personally I would choose the oils and pre- measure and just have everyone blend, sounds easier and less expensive. Guest guest
Hi Gea, That's a good idea. You reminded me that when I was doing my aromatherapy training, I was doing the oils course around Christmas time. We did a class where we made lotions and potions as gifts. We were given a little recipe book with the basic ingredients and measurements and some suggestions as to oils to use. It might be fun to do a stepped up version of that. When you did your version at the baby shower, did you put all of your oils out and allow them to choose or did you make the choices i.e. did you make them up before the shower and then just give them out or did you have the girls make them while they were there? I can see a few possibilities with this idea. Any other suggestions are still welcome though. Oh and they don't necessarily have to be related to aromatherapy or alternative healing. They can be suggestions just for the pure fun of it. Also everyone else, please let me know if you would like to hear what the final decision is regarding the activities chosen. If it is " G " rated enough, I will post it if enough people are interested. Thanks, Dorothy Gea wrote: > You can put out ingredience for bath salts in pretty bowls and > bottles - set up on a table and have everyone make their own > individual scents. > I didn't do this as a activity, but for my sisters baby shower I > bought some empty clear glass christmas ornaments, filled them with > potpourri scented with EO and prettied them up with some ribbon for > a hanger and gave them as favors, everyone loved them and I still > make them every year for teachers gift etc, even if people don't > clebrate christmas they smell great and you can hang them anywhere > all year long. > my ideas are rated G if your looking for REAL fun how about pooling > your $ and some male strippers;) > Have a great time with the gals > Gea
