Guest guest
First - I'm so sorry that I wrote that borax was considered cancerogenic, not true to my findings. I was so fuddlebrained, that I mistook one thing for the other (due to almost cutting my left forefinger of while cuting potatoes, bleeding like a pig and being in severe pain - gahh). But the next is a translations of the description I found on a Swedish webpage called Shenet " according to the Swedish Chemical Inspection board, is a hasardous (sp??) substance that is dangerous in contact with the skin. It should not be used on damaged or cracked skin and is absorbed throught the skin and that way can cause severe irritations. It's been known that kids have died by borax poisoning after atopic application, which have been shown up as anemia. The Danish board of environment looks at borax as a danger to fetuses. It's also irritating for the breathing system (right now I just can't find the right English word). Some authorities classifies borax as a hazard to the environment, the poison factor for fish is low, but other water organisms and some waterplants die of hight levels of borax. " I know that it's a common ingrediences in some Natural Skin Care books, but I for one would never ever use this in my products. Just to be on the safe and all natural side :-D Fragrant Blessings, Ylva

Guest guest
I'm sorry Cindy, but I don't know where to find that report :-( What I wrote was a direct translation from a Swedish " cosmetic info " site called Shenet (http://www.shenet.se).
