I'm sure this would not be practical for everyone, but my husband

uses a portable propane torch on ants. He actually digs down,

whenever possible, to the queen's " throne " and fries 'em all. Gross,

but we feed a multitude of birds, have tons of lizards, horned toads

and other cool little creatures - so we couldn't use poison. At

first we left the ants alone, until it appeared they were going to

overtake us, so had to devise something. We leave the ones on the

outer perimiters of the place so that the other critters will still

have some to eat.....
