Guest guest
evening all, my name is deb and i'm the mom of 4 boys. we also have lots of dogs, a few birds, couple of geckos, couple of goats, 2 yearling quarter horses, and one lone cat. i'm a jack of all trades and master of none. herbs have always been an interest of mine but i have no formal training. this brings me to a question. long story, but a couple of nights ago, i tried to cut a branch out of one of our pine trees. i was using a hand limb cutter. i didn't have enough strength to push the two handles together so placed one of the handles on my chest and pulled towards me with the other. needless to say, my poor chest is so sore. no bruising but it even hurts to get in and out of a chair. i'd like to make a salve of some sort to help with this pain. i grow my own comfrey, yarrow, sage lavander and lemon balm, so can incorperate any of these into the mix. the reason that i ask for something for bruising is because i think that it's bruised either the muscle down deep or even the bone, if that's possible. we also has a friend kicked by a horse at a show this weekend that's ended in a massive bruise on her left side going around to the middle of her back. i've also got several different oils here that could also be used, i think. black pepper being one of the newest that i've gotten. carrier oil is another question. i'd like something that absorbs well. i've just got some almond oil here, along with bees wax at the moment. any help would be appreciated. thanks for having me. you are all so informative. i've gotten lots of info from you all, already! oh, and just so you don't think that i'm a snob, i get the list in digest form so if i don't reply right away to your posts, that's why. debc chillicothe, mo http://www.fourwyndz.com

Should be done though when bruise begins to appear. If its been there more than a day, I'm not sure it will do any good. Hope you both start feeling better soon. Sending healing energies. Guest guest
thank you autumnrain, went to the doctor yesterday, nothing broken but it seems that i've either torn the muscles of the chest or damaged the soft tissue. he gave me some meds and sent me home. i'm not big on taking any sort of drugs, so they will probably sit right on the shelve till they are a last choice sort of thing. i will try the lavender but in the mean time, have picked up a small jar of tiger balm red. seems that someone mentioned it a while back about using it for pain. i was pleasantly surprised to feel that it took most if not all the pain away for about 3 or 4 hours. don't know that it will help with my friends bruising but will pass on the lavender tip to her and see if it helps with her. thanks again, debc www.fourwyndz.com >A lavender massage oil should HELP ease the pain and an oinion poltice has >been recomended for bruises. >
