Guest guest
OK, did I get your attention? It is kind of a deep question, though, really! I was having a conversation yesterday with the woman doing my aromatherapy facial -- can we say pure heaven!? -- and she asked me what I thought of Lavender 40/42. She loves it and uses it for consistency, so that when she creates products she will know they will be scented similarly. I told her I did not like it and found the scent to be tangy. I am a purist and want my lavender essential oil to be what nature intended it to be, and I prefer French high alt. or Bulgarian. Well, she told me that 40/42 was created naturally, that they were able to isolate the plant part and use more of it or less of it to get the 40/42 ratio. This was not my understanding of 40/42 at all. I thought that a certain chemical constituent of the lav eo was the one responsible for the floral scents (sorry, I can't remember which one at the moment) and that this was produced synthetically and added to make the 40/42 ratio. Are we both right? Do you think that different distillers use different methods? Another thing that concerned me a bit about this info is that she got it from a supplier that has questionable quality and ethics, from what I hear around the web, although I don't want to bash b/c I don't know the real truth. Anyone who can shed some light on this, please jump in and feed me with info! :-) Debbie deb Beautiful hair ~ naturally! http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/forthehair.php
