And I was hoping somebody had the secret recipe for Tabu perfume? I always

liked it, but haven't worn in a long time. So does anybody know the

ingredients?

Thanks and have a great day.

Hi Starr,

It is from an evergreen tree bark. It is also known as Makko or Tabu-no-ki. The

powder is used as a binder and combustion agent in making incense (extensively

in Japanese incense). The higher grades are almost odorless and it burns very

steadily and evenly.

from a website:

DANA created TABU PERFUME in 1931. It is the result of the following top

fragrance Notes: orange, coriander and clove. The middle notes are:

ylang-ylang, rose and patchouli and the base of the fragrance is: cedar,

vetiver and amber.

Perfumers on my Natural Perfumery group often try to recreate old scents,

but it is often noted that even if you know the ingredients, you don't know

the proportions, so it will probably not be the same. Close, maybe, if

you're lucky, but not the same. Even the base alchohol can make a big

difference.http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
