Guest guest
Calling on all the helpful people on this great list. It's that time of year when the mice start coming in and with fall cleaning going on, I am finding some spiders. I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer on how I may best deter these creatures. In the past I used peppermint eo. I'm checking to see if that is a good choice for the spiders? If not, what are your recommendations. The only thing I have gotten on the mice are dryer sheets (Bounce) or red pepper sprinkled across the floor. Well, the red pepper is messy and I'm not sure where to put the dryer sheets. In my thinking, if you have dryer sheets in the cupboard with your boxed cereal, they are going to find a way around that! I need something to to edge the cupboards with I believe. My books are all packed away at the moments as there is a minor remodeling project going on and even if they weren't I would still turn to you. I searched the archives and didn't find anything on this, only catnip for the mosquitos. Thanks to all of you, Buffy
Guest guest
Hello Buffy, My dogs used to kill rats for me on our farm and yes, the dogs had all their shots and the very best food money could buy. So did my hogs, chickens, goats and my pet steer. The rats were a massive, prolific problem; they would burrow under the hen house and we did everything to get rid of them EXCEPT poison. We never, never used poison because we had a well. My dogs would kill as many rats as they could and my sons used to shoot the rats when we would smoke or flood them out of their underground nests. (The dirty rats would eat the animal feed out of the feed bins) We had a few mice in the house but the dogs were always on to them, too. My dogs are lab, dobie mix. They are priceless and so intuitive. They swim with us, camp with us and all have their own blankets and special places to sleep. They sleep with us at times. They have a flea bath and treatments weekly or as needed. They are treated like family cause they are. I don't like cats and they don't either. I had two different physics tell me I was killed in the jungle by a big cat in my last life. Don't laugh and by all means read Sylvia Brown. I am a certified massage therapist and I believe spiritual healing. Thanks for listening and good luck with your problems no matter how big or small.
