Hi everyone,

I recently joined the list and look forward to participating in your

fascinating discussions. I live up on a ridge in the woods of

southeast Ohio, where I grow and gather herbs for my vegan soaps. I'm

also a writer and photographer, and a life-long learner:)

 

Just one comment for now... I think at least one of the remarks about

the NY Times article was harsh. The story reads like a column, which

is not meant to be educational or scientific. It's an expression of

the writer's personality and humor, usually light and positive (which

I think this article is). I found nothing negative or derogatory in

the article. Please--PLEASE--don't take this as an insult, because I

don't mean to start a battle here. But I think some of us need to

lighten up a bit and not take ourselves so seriously. We can actually

live longer, healthier and happier lives if we are able to see some

humor in our own endeavors.
