Guest guest
If it were me I'd start with using an Echinacea decoction as a fomentation. Maybe some time after the deep surgical wound was healed I'd use something like comfrey, but starting that too soon is no good cause it will cause the skin tissue to heal too quickly, healing the outer layers before the deeper layers have a chance to heal properly, and that can cause problems. How would I make or where could I buy (and have shipped quickly) an Echinacea decoction? Also, how would I use comfrey. Also, would I have him use this in a bath or would I put a cloth soaked in the decoction on the wound? I am new at this. I have wanted to learn more about EOs and herbal remedies but it seemed like sooo much information to learn. Now I am being gently pushed into it, since I will do anything for my family, even get a headache stuffing my brain full of new info, lol. >The best oil blend I can think of for preventing/fading scars is: >helichrysum and lavender in rose hip seed oil and maybe some cocoa >butter. That'd be used after the skin is healed and sealed. > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > http://www.alittleolfactory.com What type of a recipe would this call for percentage wise. I purchased some organic rose hip seed oil today and am looking at Nature's Gift site for the helichrysum since www.alittleolfactory.com seems to be Out of Stock or I would get it from there. I wanted to make him something that will hold together. I figured the cocoa butter will be good for that, but will be easy for him to apply after his wound heals so he will keep up with it. I will use the rose hip seed and the helichrysum but since both are really expensive, but I do want to use enough to do him good, what amounts would I use? And can any of these ingredients be affected badly from heat, should I use the microwave or double boiler? Would I use beeswax in this mix or will that keep the mixture from penetrating the skin as well as it could? (I saw info on beeswax not working on another site) Sorry if this seems like a lot of questions but I don't want to waste ingredients this expensive and I get nervous about new things. I want to be sure it works. If I wait too long his scar might not react to the oils as well as it could. Thanks for all the info so far. And I will appreciate all the info I get in the future. Once the wound is completely healed - then this blend is what Chris is talking about. 1 oz Rosehip Seed Oil 1.5% Helichrysum Italicum from Corsica. Instructions: Add the Helichrysum to the 1 oz bottle (amber glass or dark colored PET Plastic) then add the Rosehip seed oil. Roll gently in your hands to mix them together. Rub small amount where the scar is and the surrounding area. Do a skin patch test before using it to make sure it is okay for him - Cheryl ===== Cheryl Smith A Heavenly Body 204 Muldoon Road Anchorage AK 99504
