Guest guest
I was reading on another list (Anya's Natural Perfumery list to be exact) about how a gal was making cucumber essence my macerating a cucumber and then extracting the essence in alcohol, so I decided to try it with a pineapple (I cut up a pineapple the other night and had all that leftover pulp ya get when cutting pineapple, that is also how I got the pineapple olive mask going on I chunked up all the " scrap " pineapple I had in a food processor, skin and all, and put it into a glass container, covered the pulp with Everclear, covered, been shaking it every so often for 3 days, and now I am in the straining process. I'm just letting it strain forever over a bowl using a coffee filter in a chinoise. Maybe by the time I get home it'll have finished straining *lol*. It does smell pretty darn pineapply so far. I'll keep ya posted as to how it comes out! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

That sounds really neat. I'm looking forward to hearing how it comes out! I was in the experimental mode the other day and made a rose extract (rose petals in alcohol), now I've got to figure out what to do with it! Any ideas? I was actually JUST about to try this, was debating whether or not to waste the everclear, or eat the pineapple. And I too, am sporting a mask - pineapple/papaya/oatmeal. Great minds, eh? the cucumber essence is still ok, I think it needs another filter though. JenB
