But .. what the heck .. if >we are into using Fragrance Oils in the first place .. which there is no >way to know their composition .. we will probably be satisfied with >adulterated Commercial Grade oils and not complain about being taken to >the cleaners. ;-p chuckling... one of my staff, before coming to work here, bought some Jasmine Grandiflora from a fairly well known soap supplier... pure absolute. well... it did smell like jasmine grand. was the right family. we scent stripped that jasmine, our undiluted grandiflora, and our 10% jasmine grand in jojoba. the 'bargain' jasmine was the scent intensity of our 10%... so in blending, it would have taken 10 drops of theirs to match the 'weight' of 1 drop of theirs. their price is in the area of $70 an ounce. Ours is $84 a half ounce. but... if you have to use 10 times as much of theirs... the equivalent to our half ounce would cost $350 when it comes to actual cost to use... do I think they are deliberately diluting it? nope. I just think they are buying from a source that leaves a WHOLE lot more of the solvents in the absolute. amazing what a whole lot of alcohol can do to cut costs. re the 'solid' rose oil... during the winter months we get one or two calls a month at LEAST from folks who don't know that cold rose oil is solid...
