Guest guest
Hello All, I have been away for some time now, as my Mother had a stroke. I live 2500 miles from her and I went there to visit her in a place called Carmel Manor. I am planning on bringing her to California to live with me as soon as she is strong enough. My Mother's name is Esther Shelton and her birth date is July 31, 1916. I had to leave her there until she is strong enough to travel and it was like leaving your child in someone else's care. It is devastating. By the grace of God, I will return there to fly her home to live out the rest of her life in my care. She is so precious to me. Her address is below for anyone that has the time to send her a birthday of get well card. Esther Shelton % Carmel Manor, Rm. 135B Carmel Manor Road Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 Sincere thanks, Rosalie Shelton When I bring her home I will be starting a special program working with speech therapists, walking and using her right hand as the right side was the side affected by the stroke. She has therapy three times a day now and I will be setting that up to continue professional help here. Any special massage procedural suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also, I need to build up her immune system because she was shut in a very unhealthy environment all last winter. She had many urinary tract infections and right before her stroke she has an intestinal infection. The constant use of antibiotics destroyed the good bacteria as well as the bad causing a recent bout with yeast infections, thrush and shingles. Guest guest
The same thing happened to my father in the last stages of his cancers and COPD. The doctors put him on cheese and dairy products. Vitamin K is found in these products (per the MDs) and it really did help keep the infections down. Helped make him comfortable in his last month. Good luck to you and your mother. It is always so terribly difficult. Linda - Rosalie Shelton ...Also, I need to build up her immune system because she was shut in a very unhealthy environment all last winter. Guest guest
Greetings People; There is a milk product that contains the precursors for glutathione (GSH) which is a key component for the immune system. Works for cancer and HIV. GSH is a huge antioxidant. Guest guest
Greetings Rosalie My best thoughts go out to you in this time. Having read your post and having lost people close to me, I can understand the desire to do everything we can to do what we think is right. Question is what is right? What is life? What is dignity? What is quality of life? And what does the patient want? I have many strategies to aid the body, they are not 'magic bullets'. They involve lifestyle changes. Is the patient prepared to do it? Often their are many psychological factors involved. To me, a body is like a garden - for it to bear, many things have to be in place - good soil, water, right seed, no pestky critters, sun, your tending and others. If you want to email me offline, I can, if you want, provide some suggestions. Realize that it takes a team to do something like this. Guest guest
Hi Rosalie: I hope everything goes well for you. From my experience with people challenged with chronic conditions, I know it is best if they want to seek solutions and remedy the condition. I know if I wanted to 'fix' the problem, it usually didn't work as well as when the person was actively seeking the solution.
