Guest guest
Hi, Butch... >But .. are the oils you are ordering Origin Canada? Important question. Hi, no they are imported, but aren't most, lol? Another reason I deal with these companies, is that I get wholesale prices ( anyway, they tell me I do, LOL), for being a student of Aromatherapy. >It seems that US Postal for some reason more often than not bypasses the dudes with their hands out but the Special Carriers .. like FedEx and UPS and such make sure they stop off there. No kidding, I recived $20 of free software, paid $5 for shipping, arrived via UPS with a hefty $46 fee, I couldn't believe it. I refused to accept it. I will not use any company that lists UPS or Fedex to Canada for that reason. >But .. that company might get their oils from me .. I sure hope the do!, If you want to open a distributing centre in Canada, email me... Butch, I find your fees to be excellent, and have no problem with ordering my Catnip oil from you, and the other things that I can't find here. I find the bulkier the order the more I'm gonna swear at the post office when it gets here... Carol....:-)
Guest guest
Hi Carole, Lemme lay on my two cents on this issue. > I order mainly from fellow Canadian for just that reason. But .. are the oils you are ordering Origin Canada? Important question. > I ordered Shea Butter and by the time it got through customs and the > government charged its handling fees and taxes, it ended up costing me > $20 more than If I had bought it here. That was very unfortunate .. but it happens sometimes .. often depends on the method of shipment. It seems that US Postal for some reason more often than not bypasses the dudes with their hands out but the Special Carriers .. like FedEx and UPS and such make sure they stop off there. But it could be worse .. one on my best customers is from Chile and one of the members of this list .. their duties are more than 50%. :-( I see that as criminal as the products purchased are not produced there so there is no reason for the gummit to stiff their citizens .. but it does happen from time to time. > Email me privately and I will send you the names of the companies I > have found here in Ontario, that have great prices.. But .. that company might get their oils from me .. or from one of the other folks who sell wholesale and retail. I do have wholesale buyers in Ontario .. and many wholesale and retail buyers throughout Canada. On Origin .. if an oil is not produced in the country it is sold in then it was imported .. and the cost of importation is gonna be passed along to the end user. Might not be there where it jumps out and bites us but it is still there cause folks in this business have to recoup costs one way of the other. Same with FREE SHIPPING .. there is no such thing. IF someone is giving free shipping then the cost is in the product. Reminds me of the tale of the young soldier who went on temporary duty to another post and when he returned he went to finance to fill out his travel voucher. On that voucher he listed .. " One lost hat. " The clerk told him there was no way the military would pay him for his lost hat and threw the papers back at him .. told him to redo them and bring them back. Young troop did that .. brought them back and told the clerk, " The hat is still in there .. but I bet you can't find it. " ;-p So .. my point is .. the point for determining cost is the point of cost for the product .. then you add in the shipping .. and there are exact costs that are tacked on for Canada .. sometimes. Same for Australia but as many times as not packages go through like crap through a goose and bypass the fellers with their hands out .. this applies to all the countries I deal with .. 57 in all. > Carol > cjpearce I am not saying you should not buy Canadian .. in fact its a good idea to support folks in your own country as best you can. But please don't get the idea that importing or buying from outside necessarily has to be more costly. I am thankful that this is not the case because more than half my business comes from outside the USA and of all the countries I speak of .. the largest number of buyers are in Canada and Taiwan. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
