Postal Difficulties ** Was: VCO Update

Reference the problems Chris is experiencing. I'm not surprised. I

have run into problems similar to that you lay out below in getting a

product from the Philippines.

I am thinking .. though I haven't checked it out .. that they might not

use the International postal system because the USA does not honor their

postal system. I was surprised the other day to learn that a country we

all consider to be pretty modern .. in Europe .. is one of the countries

the USPS will not insure Airmail Parcel Post packages to .. we must use

Global Express. This happens US Postal runs into difficulties with a

foreign postal system when tracking lost packages .. or when there is an

abundance of lost packages.

 

Turkey used to be on the USPS hit list but they cleaned up their act so

now we can insure to Turkey.

 

There is one country in Asia that is habitually late getting Airmail

Parcel Post packages to buyers. And after the 30 day period .. and when

the US Postal makes an inquiry, the packages show up .. amazing it is

methinks and I am sure there is some diplomatic correspondence going

back and forth between the USPS and that countries postal system.

 

Now that we have dealt with FedEx long enough to have a nice discount I

have suppliers send me stuff via FedEx using my account number. If I

used my Turkish company account to ship 3 kilos from Turkey to Maryland

it would cost me a heckuva lot more than it does using my Maryland FedEx

account number. This works the same way from other countries.
