Hey David,

 

It was after 2 in the morning when you wrote this so I will clarify

something you meant to say afore it makes folks nuts. ;-p

Dried aromatic material he meant to write .. in fact, its better cause

of the lack of water .. and more economic cause it costs the same for

labor and energy to run a still regardless of how much aromatic material

is in the still. And you can put more in the still when its dry.

 

The above applies to steam-distillation ONLY .. can't do it for those

aromatics that are hydrodistilled .. like Rose Blossoms. They must be

fresh. In fact, in the few hours Rose Blossoms are waiting for their

time in the pot folks are turning them with wooden forks on a concrete

floor .. need to keep them from getting warm and fermenting.
