I asked about the tea tree oil for earmites because I was sure I'd heard someone

say they used it on cats with good results(was perhaps another list). Then you

say no EO's for cats...but I must tell you that I used oregano oil on my cats

with very good success. No they don't like it at all. I won't use it in their

ears again, I think that is cruel...but I did give one full grown cat a half

dropper full and it stopped her coughing and she was ready to eat and play again

in 15 minutes! AND I saved the life of my 5 week old kitten who was having an

anaphalactic (sp?) shock due to not being able to breath because I didn't know

he had a bot fly larvae in his neck. I gave him one or two drops of oregano oil

because I was sure he would die anyway and then I really thought I'd polished

him off...but he was breathing out of his nose again shortly and playing playing

in two days...even before I extracted the larvae from his neck with my snake

bite suction cup. I will keep this on hand for us

people and my pets...but I'm not saying anyone else should. You may want to

stick with what you have heard, this is just my experience. And even so, tea

tree oil is not to be used internally I don't think, although it has similar

properties to oregano oil.

I think when I was talking about using tea tree oil in my rabbits ears you

thought I said cat for when I got a reply they were comparing the rabbit and cat

together I did have success with using it though, not as a preventitive but a

cure, my rabbit had a really bad case not long ago [my husband had a 5 way

bypass and my mother a stroke] so I was just feeding and running and didn`t

catch it till it was way out of hand I put tea tree oil in her ear and in two

days they were gone and she had [i`m sorry to say] a terrible case.

Hope this helps
