Guest guest
Hi Helen, > Could someone direct me to where to purchase a diffuser? What kind is > best, etc. That is something I have never done and with a brand new > bottle of lemon myrtle sitting on the shelf I think I need to begin!! Somebody will answer on the diffuser. But I will again emphasize that Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) can be sensitizing and irritating so I wouldn't use it on skin .. even diluted .. there are too many other safer EO one can use. Its the most lemony EO existing .. VERY high in citral. And its outstanding for use in a diffuser as it will kick big bad bug butts in a heart beat .. plus make the house smell nice. > Butch . . . I was looking at your lavender trying to decide which one > to purchase. What I want is the one most beneficial to skin. Lavandula angustifolia (officinalis) .. it should be safe for healthy, unbroken skin at up to maybe 15% dilution. Its been tested safe at a tad higher but I'm thinking for frequent use it should be lower. Either the Bulgarian or French High Altitude .. depends on olfactory appreciation. Both are relaxing and calming. For the last 3-4 months I have been putting it across the edge of my pillow afore I sleep .. I think I get a much deeper sleep then. The Turkish origin Lavender (Lavandula stoechas) is not relaxing .. its stimulating .. like Rosemary, Cineole. Great jumpstarter in the morning but not something you'd wanna sniff afore bed unless you had a boring book you wanted to finish. ;-p Its more antimicrobial than the others. > I use the cheaper kind in soap! > -Helen If by cheaper you mean the Lavender 40/42 that's where it should be used. Or maybe not at all. ;-p Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com -------------------- > > I must have missed the part about using Lemon Myrtle for Summer > > Colds. why Lemon Myrtle rather than Oregano EO ? > Two different critters .. I've probably spilt more than most people will ever buy (for those who don't know, we grew and distilled the stuff), and pure on the skin is not recommended. BTW, regular diffusing (by whatever system you prefer) can help to reduce the number of moths and other creepie crawlies in your clothes cupboards. Dennis Archer Toona Essential Oils Pty Ltd.
