Guest guest
Well, living here in logging country...the first time I saw them knock down the trees with the machines, I stood and cried. Thought, what I could do to stop them!? What I have to understand is that they replant and farm these trees. I do hate that most of the wood goes to yuppies who air condition rooms they rarely use....but some of those trees parents, were drug back here on our pick up truck and became this cabin! And guess what? I sometimes sneak over there and harvest some of the best wildcrafted plants that grow a few years after they log an area. I now accept that these people earn their families living this way and that is why I'm able to afford such a lovely mountain in tree farming territory. So the web is intricate, isn't it? Its easy to raise a small crop of organic this or that but if one has a contract with Wriggleys for 10 metric tons of Peppermint EO or a contact with a perfumery for 100 metric tons of Lavandula angustifolia its then just another business.
