Question: EO safety and soap

Hello! I've been reading lots of aromatherapy books lately and

making melt & pour glycerin soaps for a few months. I can't

seem to find an answer to this question: Do contraindications for

essential oils apply to soapmaking? Do the usual EO warnings

only matter for direct internal/external use or application?

If I make rosemary soap, for example, must it be labeled with all

the Rosemary EO warnings? (that's " Do not use during

pregnancy, lactation, breastfeeding, or on children under 2 years.

Avoid using with epilepsy, fever, or high blood pressure. Keep

out of reach of children. May irritate sensitive skin. " )

Or is it enough to give the full ingredient list and use the phrase

" Warning - The safety of this product has not been determined.

DO NOT USE IF PREGNANT. For external use only! " I don't want

to be either overly paranoid or too skimpy with information. But

I'm also just a home soapier who is looking to donate well-made

and well-labled products to charities and shelters as a service

project.

Thanks,

Carrie
