Guest guest
Hey Cheryl, > ahhhhhhh Butch, > Did this have to say something about sausage gravy and grits....... Sho'nuf did .. couldn't leave it out cause I dream about it a lot. ;-p > did not mention biskits but they were sure pictured in my head with > a big glass of milk. The milk I can pass on .. I think the taste and odor of it could gag a maggot off a gut wagon. If the Commies had wanted to get info from me they could have cut my limbs off and I might not have said a thing .. but if they made me drink a spoonful of milk .. that's different. > And if Dad were there a picture of buttermilk on the table!!!! That I can go for .. buttermilk .. that is, the right kind .. with big flakes of butter in it .. is finer'n frog hair split three ways. And if its ice cold .. with a little salt on top .. its better yet methinks. > Now, here in Alaska, Bless their hearts, they do not know how to > make sausage gravy, biscuits and grits! Most folks nawth of the Mason-Dixon Line don't know .. and talk to them about Red Eye Gravy and they think you're talking about the morning after of maybe the early flight to the big city. Grits are special and the history of the USA is long on corn this and that .. when someone didn't have grits they made cornmeal mush .. which is also nice. As for biscuits .. well .. I was in the army afore I tasted what we still call light bread. Mama made biscuits twice a day and cornbread once .. and spent all of ten minutes on each chore. ;-p > But they make a mean mahi mahi blackened steak or an elk steak!! Yep .. and sourdough bread too methinks. I monitor the Alaska Soapers List .. got some tough and funny and crazy and nice ladies on there. I reckon some of them are the last of the real pioneers in the USA. > Hugs to you, > Cheryl Yes'm .. and to you .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > > My single contribution today is the above .. that's it. ;-p I done > > decided to be like the ol' Boll Weevil this summer and go lookin' > > for a home somewhere in Dixie .. so thanks Neysa for this nice > > information which I am passing along here. :-D > > Y'all keep smiling, Butch > > > > Suthran Belles, and those who would be Suthran Belles if they knew > > the rules.
