Catnip Oil (Nepeta cataria)/ Insect Repellant

Hi Meri,

 

I'm sending you (off line) the email address of a lady in Alaska .. Judy

Ehrlich, who has made up a blend using Catnip and some other oils .. for

her horses. I'd tell you what it was now if I had time to search for

her post .. but I'm sorta running on a tight schedule .. heading out in

a few hours to the Rose Fields.

repellant? What could one use as a base/carrier so that this could be sprayed

on animals (horses)? Obviously catnip oil would be one choice because of all

the horrible mosquito borne diseases abounding, but what could be added to this?

Have you all heard of Neem oil? And if so how does it compare to Catnip oil as

an insect repellant??
