Hey Jan,

> Butch,

> Nothing like a mess of catfish, corn bread, honey and a pitcher of

> iced tea too.

You got that right .. but I can pass on the honey with that combo. The

difference twixt wild channel cat and farmed channel cat is big too. I

plan to eat a buncha that Land Between the Lakes catfeesh .. and lots of

cornbread with butter .. lots of cholesterol. ;-p

> How do you cook mulberries? What do they taste like?

Never cooked any .. eat them off the ground under the trees. The white

ones are so sweet its mindboggling .. juice runs all over you face when

you bite into it. Unique taste .. hard to describe. But I reckon one

could use them as they would any blackberry or dewberry.

> Birds eat them here and make purple poo for the unsuspecting.

Yep .. same here. But our white mulberries outnumber the reds 10 to 1.

> Speaking of fruit trees we have a white peach tree filled to the brim

> with green peaches. Will not ripen for a month or two. Ever eat those?

No m'am .. but they sound larpin' gud. My last stateside home was Jawja

and y'all know what kinda peaches we got down there .. on and off the

tree. ;-p

I miss Vidalia onions too .. gonna eat a buncha them sweet things.

Peaches are up there with the top 2-3 in my book. Along with bananas

and the BIG RED Cherries here in Turkey .. I mean BIG. The juice of

these cherries is exported .. Martin Watt went nuts over it when he was

here. And the pastries .. he stopped at every pastry shop and there is

one on every corner. ;-p

I'm thinking of exporting something to my Maryland company that I've not

seen in the USA .. maybe its there but I've missed it and I drink a lot

of it. Its Rose Hip Nectar. They pulverize the Rose Hips, add frutose

and sugar and package it in that long shelf-life packaging that doesn't

need refrigeration until its opened. It comes in liter packages and I

often drink a liter while reading.

Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com

In the east, yes...

It depends on which species you are referring to...
