Guest guest
Hi All, I made a lotion for my pregnant girlfriend, and she raves about it. She wants me to make her one for her Mom, only problem is, her Mom hates the smell of it. I don't have any essential oils stores around, to go in and smell all the oils and I don't realy want to blindly order something and get stuck with it. So, my question is...what kind of nice floral scents are out there? Does anyone have a recipe for something feminine, floral perhaps, not sickly sweet?? What scent do you get the most compliments for? I hear she's not to keen on lavender ( figures, I have lots of that, LOL). I tried experimenting and it stunk :-( Thanks! Guest guest
Oh my. There are many. My favorites are Lilac, Orange Blossom, Sweet clover, Plumeria, Jasmine, Violet, Honeysuckle, just to name a few. I hope that helps. Guest guest
Who doesn't like rose? Although that can be pricey. Neroli is another personal favorite, although, also very expensive. Not much help am I? How about ylang blended with something? Ylang can be " sickly sweet " , but if you blend it with myrrh and a touch of jasmine, it can be wonderful. Mimosa, that's another good one. smells kind of soft and powdery to me. Christy

Guest guest
I make a lotion using rose hydrosol for half of the liquid/water content. It is not as expensive as the rose absolute and the scent is lovely. You could try that. HTH Deb
