Guest guest
i was just browsing websites of EO sellers and came across one with excellent prices, however upon closer inspection the pictures of the EO's showed them in clear bottles!! this was obvious as you could see the different colours of the oils. You know its almost like seeing someone naked! lol so either these people do not know what they are doing and therefore good oils are going to waste or they are cheaters. I just had to tell you guys, i've never seen such obvious mistakes, i hope no-one has fell for them. I was going to buy some of their waters but i'm not so sure now... Guest guest
Actually, if you believe Dr. Pappas at EOU, colored bottles aren't as necessary as you may have been led to believe. He's done a great deal of research, and again, it is one man's opinion, but I thought I'd share it and you can take it for what it is worth. I just love hearing many different opinions! http://essentialoils.org/colorless_bottles.htm Debbie deb Are your feet ready for sandals? http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/feet.shtml - " Vicki " <ickle_vicki84 Monday, June 16, 2003 10:29 AM SHOCKED!! > i was just browsing websites of EO sellers and came across one with > excellent prices, however upon closer inspection the pictures of the > EO's showed them in clear bottles!! this was obvious as you could see > the different colours of the oils. > > You know its almost like seeing someone naked! lol so either these > people do not know what they are doing and therefore good oils are > going to waste or they are cheaters. > > I just had to tell you guys, i've never seen such obvious mistakes, i > hope no-one has fell for them. > > I was going to buy some of their waters but i'm not so sure now... > > Vicki > > > > Step By Step Instructions On Making Rose Petal Preserves: http://www.av-at.com/stuff/rosejam.html > > To adjust your group settings (i.e. go no mail) see the following link: /join > > To Un send a blank e-mail to: - > > > >
Guest guest
Actually there is nothing wrong with using clear bottles fro EO's, as long as you put them in a cool dark place anyhow. I put ALL my oils in a cool dark place anyhow. I get most of my EO's from essential oil university and the smaller bottles are clear/frosted glass and they are the highest of quality! Guest guest
Dr. P's opinion on this matter doesn't really make much sense to me. UV rays are certainly one of the environmantal factors that contribute to the degradation of EO's - and storing them in clear glass lets them be exposed to more UV than storing them in colored bottles do. If one is going to choose to keep their EO's in clear glss then they need to keep them out of light as much as possible (or use them really fast I personally wouldn't do it. Here is some info about violet bottles - supposedly the best ones to keep out the UV rays (but they ain't cheap by any means) http://fm.miron.ch/miron/miron_glas/sites/english/g_research.html *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com , " Debra McDuffee " <deb@b...> wrote: > Actually, if you believe Dr. Pappas at EOU, colored bottles aren't as > necessary as you may have been led to believe. Guest guest
Makes sense to me. However I still put my EO's in amber or Blue glass, and all my oils are kept in a dark , cool place out of the light. I do have the small bottles from EOU still in the frosted glass bottles they came in, they are 1 oz bottles, they do not put their larger amounts of EO in the clear/frosted glass, they send them in aluminum bottles, I also transfer those to amber glass. The info you quote below to me is just another company wanting people to buy their bottles. And to get the full info you have to pay them 40 bucks, that information should be public, not paid for. To me, another way to get your $$ Karla ---- Dr. P's opinion on this matter doesn't really make much sense to me.
