Guest guest
I'd never toss it; I'm too much of a waste not/want not girl. Now the pomace I got is not green, it's golden. Does the greent tint still apply? I could make a beautiful castile by infusing it with rosemary and lavender right? And if I use the Lab Colours for Olive does that balance the tone? There's plenty of soaps that I make that have a green tint to them that this can work for -- lemon verbena, rosemary castile, lavender castile (I use toffee purple), french green clay and all the clay soaps, actually. Are the lathering properties the same as reg olive oil and so I use it in the same percentages in my normal recipes with the only difference being the tracing and the color factors? Guest guest
Hi Jody > ... the pomace I got is not green, it's golden. Does the green tint still apply? Hmmm, I've personally only used green poamce (and its a dark green) so I don't know for sure, but I'd have to ASSUME that if its a golden colored oil it'll make a golden colored soap. > I could make a beautiful castile by infusing it with rosemary and lavender right? Oh yes! > And if I use the Lab Colours for Olive does that balance the tone? I'm sorry, never used them, so I can't help ya out there ... > There's plenty of soaps that I make that have a green tint to them that this can work for lemon verbena, rosemary castile, lavender castile (I use toffee purple), french green clay and all the clay soaps, actually. I have a bunch of herbal soaps I make that the green works for .. and my cocoa mint swirl soap is great with the green shade too - and the chocolate brown cocoa swirl looks wonderful against it > Are the lathering properties the same as reg olive oil and so I use it in the same percentages in my normal recipes with the only difference being the tracing and the color factors? Yes! Same SAP value, same great lather ... just a much faster trace (which I personally like. I'm too busy and impatient to wait a long time for my soap to trace *LOL*) > Jody *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
