Guest guest
Helen Misery loves company. I went through something very similar for six months last year. I finally succumbed to the steroid treatment, which helped bring things under control as I was getting very weak..... This stuff covered me from my shoulders to my toes. Finally, I got really mad, drank several ounces of my homebrewed Melissa officinalis tincture daily and YELLED at this stuff to get the H*LL out of my life. And, it went. mjh In a message dated 5/27/03 9:05:20 PM Eastern Daylight Time, worth249 writes: > Cheryl - > I have RACKED my brain on that and could not come up with anything. Guest guest
Clear DayLast winter I developed these very small " blister " type bumps (just one every now and again) on my left leg. It would itch, burst and then the skin around it seemed to deteriorate until it was very sore and swollen. After about 6 or so on my left leg, they began to appear on my right leg and then on my right arm . . . . then left arm. They leave a horrible scar and still have not completely healed. This is VERY unusual for me as I tend to heal quickly I went to the Dr. about 3 months ago and he said it looked like staph infections and put me on mega antibiotics. They remained so I was sent to a dermatologist. This guy did a biopsy of several of them and the results were " inconclusive " except that they ruled out any bug bites. I was put on prednisone and they began to clear up. They are coming back again . . . starting just as before with one here and there. I make a comfrey salve that heals almost anything but does not touch this stuff. I mixed in a bit of Helichrysum and still no relief. I would really appreciate any suggestions. I am not diabetic and they have ruled out lupus. I look like I have a horrid disease and would love to get these things healed up. Thanks. -Helen
Guest guest
Helen: Are these blisters only on the limbs? Did they ooze clear or cloudy? For the moment, I'd just do the tea tree and emu oil thing which is my reaction to anything on the skin till I know better. The comfrey salve sounds interesting. Could you share the recipe? If it isn't staph and the skin doc is saying inconclusive tests, scarring. Not confined to a particular season. If we all scour around in our books, maybe we can find something that will ring a bell. Right now these things are producing pockmarks. could it be some relative of the chicken pox virus (lasts too long)or (God help us) a mutatation. Can't think of the name of that family of virii at the moment but it wil come back or somebody will remember. I'll check on another list also. Can anybody else suggest something to mull over or check on? Barbara(whose 'puter crashed and has been isolated for what seems like years) - Helen A. Guest guest
What about allergies? Since they have cleared up and are now coming back it could be along those lines. Guest guest
Helen, how about a few drops each of lavender, red thyme, camphor, lemon and clary sage(5-10 depending on the amt of tea tree and emu you are using. I'd starts with a t. of each and add 3-4 drops each of the EO's. I'm extrapolating fromWorwood but nobody seems to know what this is, so we just proceed with great caution. So glad you remembered not to use comfrey. You're so right about its uses and I'm always afraid I'm going to forget the cautions so I write it on the bottles. Barbara - Helen A. Guest guest
Helen: Forgot hyssop.and German chamomile. A little helichrysum certainly wouldn't do any harm along withthe others. It works on bacterial infections but it's hyssop for viral infections which I'm thinking this would be. Again this is my best guess. Barbara - Helen A. Guest guest
Helen One doesnot brew Melissa (lemon balm), one steeps it in hot water. When using this method, I heat the water, go out to the garden, cut a ton a lemon balm, place it in a large pot, just barely cover it with the hot water, place a lid on it and let it steep about 30 minutes. The essential oil is very volatile. I also start tincturing it in late May. I make about three gallons of this tincture annually. mjh In a message dated 5/28/03 7:40:21 AM Eastern Daylight Time, worth249 writes: > Having this stuff from head to toe would be sheer misery. Guest guest
Lemon Balm does sound like a good idea- it is specific for viral blistery things like herpes...make a strong brew or tincture from the fresh leaves... Also St Johns wort tincture. Red Clover , Burdock Root, Cleavers, Dandelion Root.... As for EOs I would try Ravensara, German Cham...perhaps Calophyllum- but I wouldnt use comfrey salve on the sores- perhaps when they start to heal... So- it is the proper use of the term... Michelle

There may be some variations on the spelling, but basically it is from the Hunan providence. Chinese soldiers dont' go into battle without it, and it is the #1 chinese herbal mixture to fight infection. It sounds like you may have an allergy (try to find the source), then the blisters pop (and maybe you scratch them a little, eh?) and an infection sets in. This stuff works wonders, and it would be worth your while to track it down. It cleared up a fingernail infection I had had for a year in two days.http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady ©

Guest guest
It isn't poison ivy . . . started last November with little help other than the prednisone. UNTIL the emu and tea tree/lavender salve. Gosh this has been amazing and even the older places are healing much faster. Wonder what I have that this mixture would heal it so quickly. Stopping the itch and the swelling is nil. =Helen - > If it is poison ivy .. jewel weed is THE BEST remedy for that, hands > down! >
