Guest guest
Not to my knowledge, but wouldn't that be nice? There is an oil that has a coconutty-like aroma.....kinda.....somewhat......if you use your imagination. It's not the sweet kind of coconut you are probably after, but for blends it's nice. It's called Massoi bark; (Cryptocarya massoy). I noticed while walking past a Bath & Body Works store, they've got a new scent....Coconut, Lime, Verbena, and I thought I'd try to make a blend using Massoi, lime, and verbena. Mmmmmmmmmm.....I can already hear the waves crashing. Christy - Elena Tuesday, May 20, 2003 7:08 PM coconut EO? hello friends, Does coconut essential oil exist? Guest guest
Hi Elena, Nope, no such thing as coconut EO, but the Virgin Coconut Oil smells just like a fresh coconut and can be used in many ways in many things *Smile* Chris (list mom) Virgin Coconut Oil Co-op http://www.alittleolfactory.com , " Elena " <elenastral@h...> wrote: > hello friends, > > Does coconut essential oil exist? > > Elena
Guest guest
Actually vco has a very light coconut scent and it does not come through in lotions or soap, I use it in all my lotions and cannot smell it at all. Bittercreek has a wonderful cocnut fo that smells just like fresh coconut. Guest guest
Hi Karla The VCO I just got a bucket of has a pretty strong scent, not as strong as an EO, but definately noticable and coconutty. I have found that the scent of the VCO I've used does come through in my lotions, creams, salves and butters (the degree of scent depends on the % of VCO to other oils and ingredients which are used in my recipe) but I do agree, it does not come through in soap - the saponification process just kills the scent (although I've not tried it in rebatched soap so I don't know about that one) .... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com , " Moonfairy " <moonfairy@c...> wrote: > Actually vco has a very light coconut scent and it does not come through in lotions or soap, I use it in all my lotions and cannot smell it at all. Guest guest
Hi Pat, It is true, there is no real coconut EO, but there IS Virgin Coconut Oil, which smells (and tastes) like fresh coconut. I love to make all kids of things with it because of the heavenly smell and the wonderful taste (it is amazing to fry shrimp in, or to spread on waffles instead of butter). *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Pat [eveningsongsoaps] ... When I was looking for a coconut EO, my herb teacher told me that any coconut scent you get is synthetic, so I didnt pursue it. Chris am I wrong here? Pat (Jen I LOVE coconut too)
Guest guest
Chris and all: Has anyone tried superfatting with virgin Coconut Oil? If so does the coconut scent come through at all? I'd sure LOVE! to have a natural coconut scent...even if it was just a little!
