Rosehipseed CO2 Safe for Pregnants??

Hey Butch,

Thanks for that. I swear - one of these days I'm gonna splurge

bigtime and buy Martins book!

In every aromatherapy book I have read so far, there are quite an

amount of EOs that's said to avoid during pregnancy. But from what

you say, I can derive that there's very little truth to that?? Hmm,

most EOs are used topicaly, from my point of view mainly for scent,

but also with some hope that they will work magic and wonders on the

skin directly ;-)

The answer is .. YES .. it is safe. In fact, one would be hard pressed

to find ANY credible information on ANY cold-pressed oil or essential

oil that would support a NO answer for your question .. if the oil was

used topically .. not ingested.

 

Howsomeever .. there is another issue here .. one of perception. When

Mama Nature decides She has made a mistake, she almost always gets rid

of that mistake in the first trimester .. its just Her way .. not the

fault of anyone .. just a matter of bad luck and a part of survival of

the fittest.

 

Odds of a mother successfully doing anything to harm a fetus after the

first trimester are slim .. that includes poisoning herself cause more

than one healthy fetus has been saved after mothers took their own life.

 

Perception comes in when guilt comes in. Mothers who lose babies are

generally terribly and naturally bothered by this .. and often they want

to find fault. What did I do and what should I have not done .. guilt

and etc. If that expectant mother had not used a particular product

before .. there is a chance they might focus on that and lock in like a

pit bull on it being the reason that a natural miscarriage occured. :-(

 

Long ago .. some gal on one list swore that she miscarried because she

washed her hands with a bar of soap that had pennyroyal in it. First,

pennyroyal is NOT an abortificient .. it is an emmenagogue .. and it

will NOT work to cause a pregnant lady to begin menstruation! There is

no soap in the world that could cause such a problem .. none!

Regardless of what I have written above .. you can always be the fault

if the one pointing the finger chooses to do so. Here in the villages

of Turkey there are certain actions that one does not allow pregnant

women to view .. to do so would certainly cause problems .. thinks they.

Not different than many of the Native American beliefs ... we can trace

them and the Turks back to a common set of superstitions.

 

So the answer is it is not harmful but you can be blamed. :-(
