Susan,

Not sure I can really answer that specifically. I feed my greyts

the BARF diet (biologically appropriate raw foods). When I learned

how to feed this way, I was told to include oils with their diet;

flax, cod and or olive.

After reading everything I could find and participating in the VCO

, I asked on that group and one lady had greyhounds and

said that is the only oil she gave them. If it is as good for

humans as I've read, then a smaller amount should be good for the

greyts. My girl had a hard time sometime with her " poopies " and the

VCO helps that - the other oils didn't seem to do that.

VCO is supposedly good for weight control so I read. It has not

helped me loose weight, but it has helped me to maintain my weight

after I lost a lot. My boy is 84 lbs and is a foodaholic. I feed

him sparsely but he still keeps weight on since he doesn't run much

now. His metabolism is slow. He and my girl who is 63 lbs. eat the

same thing. I don't think I could get by with feeding him so

little if I didn't give him VCO. Occasionally, I use the other oils

and it seems he is hungrier then.

My pups are in such good health with beautiful coats, great teeth

and I can only say everthing I do for them including some herbs and

vitamins is a good health program. This year I'm using lemon tea

tree hydrosol and Marge Clarke's " skeeter beater " repellant instead

of Frontline for bug repellant. We camp a lot and so far it is

working.
