Guest guest
I have two little, baby lavender plants that I got at Lowe's just because they were so cute and looked like they wanted to come home with me. One is in the process of dying, there's only one little section still green, and I'm determined to save them both and make them grow up big.... So, if you had to save little lavenders, how would you do it? I will be putting them out in the sun each day if it's not too cold, making sure they are watered (I'm not sure how often they have to be watered, either). Do they need anything like plant food or anything to keep them happy and growing? Thanks--they're awful cute and I'd like to see them thrive! -Kat
Guest guest
Kat, Lavender hates to have wet feet, or over watered roots. If frost is gone from your soil you should be able to plant it. It is a perennial. Try adding some oyster shell to sweeten the soil and add more drainage to the soil. Guest guest
I had problems growing lavender until I added sand to the soil mix. Nothing like walking down a path and brushing up against this fragrant herb. -Helen - Jan Schmidt Sunday, May 04, 2003 8:27 PM Re: Saving baby lavender Kat, Lavender hates to have wet feet, or over watered roots. Guest guest
They don't like too much water, but do like the sun.
