Guest guest
Has anyone here ever infused fresh Melissa (Lemon Balm) or Lilac flowers? I'm wondering what the results were. I'll try it regardless and post my results when I have any, but I was curious if anyone had some experience I could draw upon. The lilacs are in full bloom here and it'd be so nice to capture their lovely perfume! And I was thinking lemon balm cause I just got a new lemon balm plant and I know it'll be huge in no time, and since it is SO costly for lemon balm essential oil, maybe if it infuses well that'd be a good way to be able to have its lovely lemony fragrance on hand. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Hi Chris! My lilacs are just leafing out~ Soon, though I will be surrounded by them- and I would like to try infusing them, too- I think I will use jojoba oil and change the blossoms every couple of days - see what happens... Ive never tried infusing lemon balm either- I love the fresh tea so much I dont know if I would have enough left for infusing! I just received a sample of Litsea cubeba from Butch and it is so lovely! I think it would make a fine sunny lemony Melissa substitute for sniffing...and Ill drink Lemon Balm tea... Let me know how it goes! Michelle
