Nothing in that article about onions, aren't onions likely to cause

biliousness/colic in the infant? I'd stick with the cooked leafy greens.

That's a great article.

" Foods rich in carotenes, such as cooked apricots, asparagus, green beans,

carrots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peas, and all cooked leafy greens --

including kale, collards, mustard greens, beet greens, parsley, watercress,

and dandelion leaves -- are considered critical for women wishing to

increase or sustain lactation. Carotenes are most available when foods are

well cooked: Tomato sauce has more than 2000 times more of them than a fresh

tomato. And carotenes are more easily utilized in the body when consumed

with plenty of fat. "

The onions and the ceasar salad really

aren't a bad thing - if you read this

article by Susan Weed, it kinda gets

around to that kind of food.

I know everyone is different - I breastfed 3 children on all kinds of

hot, spicy food - onions and garlic being my favorites! I never

suffered from any problems in breastfeeding, either, so I consider

myself fortunate! They never had any problems! But I do realize that in

some cases colic and other conditions may arise. It just makes me laugh

to think about what my babies had to " eat " and today they are healthy

20+ yr.
