Guest guest
First let me also thank you for your posts regarding Turkey. I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed them and how much I also hope you'll continue. I very much look forward to your toughts on Laurus nobilis because what that German lady sent me stopped me in my tracks and the oil sounded interesting and new to me, although not new at all I understand. Everything you say about eos is right and I'm a neophyte trying to find value for my dollar and always putting quality first. The only thing I know anything about is lavender since I live on a small lavender farm so I'm BS-proof there but after that I'm a zero!! And ATL doesn't tell you anything .... they think you're quite lucky if they fill your order! And I do know enough that what they're selling is bananna water but I wouldn't buy it so let them do as they like. But in my limited experience when it comes to an oil like Neroli, which I use a lot of, their quality of fragrancee is better than Liberty's. And you're right again when you say that I judge quality by my nose ... but hey it's the only one I've got. I did work for a company that tested our noses (because we were fragrance testing shampoos) and that was a learning experience. My biases aside, heavy florals and bitters, I think I have a very common nose, modestly not exquisitely calibrated ... a nose for what my customers will like. And that will work since I have a very clear profile of who my customer is. But back to eos, in my stumbling around, and very real efforts to get a hold of some credible information wherever I could, I have looked at a couple of the sources you mentioned and one's prices were uncomfortably high for me. And price is a real consideration. I've also bought from people who I'm certain were ripping me off. Then there are the BS'ers ... who insult your intelligence with their cant and posturing. And several times, I've gotten samples from a small company only to find out they buy from Liberty! So it's maze to navigate for a newbie. And I guess I end up relying on “the kindness of strangers†... that is listmates. Funnily enough, a lady who called me to make soap for her reccomended your company to me so I'll be paying you a visit. I really love aromatherapy because it's vast ... you can learn a lot but you can never learn it all, there's always something new to learn and for me that's the basis of a lifelong inquiry. Thank you for your patience, Jody
