I've used it on me babies! I don't use washcloths though, I use Cotton balls,

so no temptation to re-use, so no worries about cross infecting either!

Cheers!

Rose Hydrosol for Pink Eye

Hi Helen,

I can tell you what I have used on MANY people .. and NEVER EVER had a

failure .. but I make no recommendations. Pink eye (conjunctivitis)

can be cured in 24-48 hours by pouring Rose Hydrosol DIRECTLY into the

eye .. not diluted. It will not burn. But if the Rose Hydrosol had not

been tested for contamination .. I wouldn't use it. Mine are tested

every 90 days .. but I can't guarantee a buyer didn't contaminate theirs

after purchase.

Pink Eye is a bacterial infection, Bacterial infections can lead to

blepharitis, an inflamation at the base of the eyelashes. This will

cause pustules filled with bacteria-fighting white blood cells. I've

seen a lot of it in small children in lesser developed countries ..

fairly common in Asia and in Africa below the Sahara. Treatment for

this back then was to remove the extra oil around the eye by washing the

area with a baby shampoo. I didn't have Rose Hydrosol with me.

Its amazing the things we used to cure with Bacitracian Ointment .. but

these were folks who hadn't even had an aspirin before.

Pinkeye can run from secretions that tend to keep the eyes closed to

redness and itching .. both are the body's natural response and

protection against bacterial or viral infection. Pinkeye causes pink

eyes cause its an infection that attacks the transparent membrane

covering the eyeball.

Discharges can also be caused by colds, allergies, dried eyes due to

wind, etc. (some folks use artificial tears to treat this) or just an

eyelash scratch on that membrane.

Bottom line .. a doctor would likely prescribe antibiotic eyedrops and

warn you to not reinfect one eye as it would likely begin to heal

quicker than the other eye. Not always the same degree of healing.

But I have given Rose Hydrosol to folks with Pink Eye and seen results

in quick time. The last was a FedEx delivery man who showed up in

Friendsville while I was there a few months back .. had to pour it in my

own eyes to convince him it was safe .. he did it .. we gave him 8 oz to

take with him and pour in 3 X a day .. in two days it was gone.

Don't use the same washcloth every time and ladies need to toss the eye

makeup they've been using as its likely contaminated.

On eyedrops, the docs will tell you to avoid those with a long shelf

life because preservatives in them can build up to toxic concentrations

and damage the lining of the eye. I read a lot into that .. maybe those

who make their own cosmetics should too.

If its really pink eye (conjunctivitis) be aware that it is one of the

most contagious conditions .. it can spread to the entire family in a

day. Entire classrooms of kids become infected with this from time to

time. BUT .. in my non-medical but not so humble opinion, it is one of

the easiest conditions to treat .. leastways would be and has been for

me and mine but I'm not legally authorized to give folks medical advice

so I don't. But were it me or mine, I'd pour Rosa damascena hydrosol

directly into the eye .. 3-4 times a day and expect to feel immediate

relief when I applied it and healing begin within 12 hours or so. At

the end of 24 hours .. 48 at the max, I would expect it to be history.

And again, I wouldn't use anybody's Rose Hydrosol for this unless they

could show me a recent lab test indicating lack of microbial, fungal and

mold contamination. Because we don't use preservatives I have mine

tested every 90 days or so .. only costs $30 which is chump change when

it comes to folks health ... and we just got the latest result back on

17 February. Ours is UNcontaminated now .. but a buyer can contaminate

it in 24 hours through mishandling .. same for cosmetics.

That is what I read, Butch!! Thanks. I received a sample from another company

when I ordered some soap supplies but do not want to take a chance on it. One

of my grandsons has it.

PLUS thanks for all of the info on conjunctivitis. Another post for my " Butch "

folder!!

Thanks.
