Guest guest
Sorry for the cross post, but I figured the more of that write in about this, the more likely we are to be heard and printed ... The magazine " Nexus " which is a free, yet very widely read " holistic journal " in Colorado (available in every health store and supermarket in the state i.e. Whole Foods and Wild Oats) had an 8 page article this month called " The Nexus Annual Body Work Guide - Healing Body, Mind and Spirit Through Touch " . Included in that list of various types of body work therapies was ... Rain Drop Therapy. Here is what they had to say about it. " Rain Drop Therapy - Reborn from an ancient ritual, in which liquid substances are dropped through the so-called etheric field onto the spine, rain drop therapy is said to relax and open the body's energy centers. It blends fragrant aromatherapy, soothing heat and gentle massage. Essential oils are methodically dropped onto the spine from five or six inches above the body, then heat from a steaming towel is followed by head shoulder and foot massage. " If anyone would like to write to Nexus to tell them how wonderful Rain Drop Therapy really isn't, and how dangerous it really can be/is, etc .... here is their info: Nexus Publishing, 1680 6th Street, Boulder, CO 80302 Fax: (303)-442-7596 E-Mail: info They ask all letters (for printing) be kept to 250 words or under and include your name and address. Deadline for May/June issue has already passed (April 3rd) but its not too late to send them a letter for the issue after that. *Smile* Chris Hemp Seed Oil - On Sale http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Guest guest
Hi Everybody There are several things wrong with RDT .... First of all - essential oils should not be used on the skin neat (undiluted). It GREATLY increases the chances of a person being irritated by an oil, or much worse - them becoming sensitized to an oil (that means that the oil can cause a bad reaction which remains with the afflicted individual for their lifetime whenever exposed to it). This is especially true for those folks who have a history of skin and health problems such as eczema, psoriasis, sensitive skin, multiple kinds of allergies, and other various medical complications. Even the oils like Lavender and Tea Tree which some say is so safe to use on skin neat has caused many folks trouble. I can think of several people I know who have become sensitized to Lavender oil including our own list mates Marge C. and Lynda S. RDT ignores all of the standard safety guidelines involving the application of essential oils. Another problem is that those who are involved with RDT tell their clients (a.k.a. guinea pigs) that if they feel a burning sensation from the undiluted oils on their skin that it is not irritation from the oils, but actually toxins being released from their system, which is bogus information .. many of the oils used in RDT are contraindicated for use on the skin (at least undiluted) due to being irritants and/or sensitizers. Then the use of a hot towel put on top of those undiluted, irritating oils just magnifies the problem by not letting the volatile oils evaporate into the air, but attempts to push them deeper into the skin tissue (and this can potentially cause even more irritation and damage to skin tissue). This is a very bad thing ... Yet another reason RDT is bad is because it is being toted as a therapy that heals things that it doesn't - such as scoliosis! Now that is plain ol' wrong to give people false hope, and especially in a sinister attempt to make money - and frankly it is illegal! Rain Drop Therapy is a careless use of essential oils and basically it doesn't serve to do folks good so much as it serves to use up more essential oils faster, and promote buying more oil (and at an outrageous price from the YL company - the main promoter of this " therapy " ) See, essential oils have been proven time and time again to be as effective if not even MORE effective in diluted form than in their undiluted and concentrated form (not to mention more economical too as less EO needs to be used!) And to top it all off .. the guy who invented RDT is a shyster. His less than honorable ways are well known in the Aromatherapy community and he has a horrible reputation except within in his little group which is more like a cult organization and following, rather than an essential oil company .. frankly its downright WEIRD the cult-like organization they have going on - for heaven's sake its just essential oils people .. but anyway .... here are a few things to read on that quack known as Gary Young ... http://www.fragrant.demon.co.uk/ylfiles.html http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/young.html I hope this answers your question. Whilst I and several other here can go into MUCH more detail if necessary the above links should be a good start to delve further into the the unfortunately seedy world of GY, YL and RDT .... I will say that I don't think that many of the folks who get caught up in the YL web of lies are bad folks, they are just as misled as anybody else who falls for the scams from the higher ups on top of the pyramid. I do hope they come to their senses rather than defend a con artist like GY. *Smile* Chris (list mom) Hemp Seed Oil - Good For The Inside and Outside Of The Body On Sale Now - Last Days! http://www.alittleolfactory.com MissLaLa [mistresslala] Friday, April 11, 2003 2:46 PM Re: Rain Drop Therapy BS Strikes Again I was going to ask the same thing. - damrt Friday, April 11, 2003 4:26 PM Re: Rain Drop Therapy BS Strikes Again What is wrong with the Raindrop therapy?
