Guest guest
Hi, I have Lemon Tea Tree Hydrosol (L. Petersonii) which I understand is good for flea and mosquito repellant and can be used for dogs and horses. My question is how to use it on my greyhounds....Do I need to cut it in anything else? Can I just spray on them when grooming. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Bobbye Carmen (I'm prissy) Merlin (Whatever, Mom)

Guest guest
And just a friendly reminder to everyone (not that Marge needs to be reminded of this ... but there may be others on the list who do not know).. this can be used for doggies, but not kitties .. never use EO's on cats! Here is a great link about that! Guest guest
I got this recipe from a message board, how does it look? And gee thanks for the info on NOT using EO's on cats! But why? And what CAN we use for them? From a message board: " I don't know if it is safe for such young dogs but I thought you might want to at least look at it. " Fleas, Ticks, Mosquitos, Fly Repellant Ingredients are full strength oils: Tea Tree Oil Rosemary Oil Sage Oil Cedarwood Oil Peppermint Oil Sweet Orange Oil Eucalyptus Oil Citronela Oil Pine Needle Oil Directions: Mix 4-6 drops each with 32 oz of any natural shampoo and you now have a natural flea shampoo, or Mix 2-3 drops each with 16 oz. Water in a spray bottle. Shake before each application and spray lightly over entire body. Repels fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies and also makes the van smell Great. Spray dogs, and blankets. Use before going into the show ring Instead of those other sprays; no chemical smell spray. This stuff smells great, dogslook great, give additional shine to their coat. Chris thanks for re-emphasizing that!... the question was about greyhounds so I was focused purely on dogs... altho...since we were talking the HYDROSOL...not the eo blend... I am going to differ with Sue at the Lavender Cat... I have used and DO use the hydrosols on my wee cats... and they are wee ones.... Jez only weighs 8 lbs... and is becoming a tad elderly...(14 years old)... she has a skin condition that responds quite well to either yarrow or German Chamomile hydrosols... but EO's should never EVER be used on cats!!!
