Guest guest
Hi Jonee and all, Of course after writing the last post I couldn't resist doing some searching thinking there had to be more. If a chemical company selling glycerol aka glycerin says in their technical bulletin that it draws moisture from the skin is that enough??? Heres the link. http://www.solvaypolyglycerol.com/market/application/0,5532,-_EN-1000037-1000045\ ,00.html If you follow it to application datasheets, then read on about the diglycerol in cosmetics and toiletries document. I am pretty much done now. lol Margaret Natural Indulgences LLC _______________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus

If this is so, then would it not dry out the skin over time? Glycerine is used in herbal preparationn as alcohol is - to draw plant constituents(water, volatile oils, etc) out into the glycerine- if it is doing that with the skin I am not so sure it is really hydrating. I can see how it would seem to be hydrating- but that it would really be *de* hydrating... But that just my thought on the whole subject- totally unresearched!
