Guest guest
Hello, I joined the list almost a month ago, and while I've been lurking, it really wasn't intentional. It's just been an absolutely crazy month with moving, homeschooling my stepon, creating web pages, changing hosts, and arguing with our ISP about why I couldn't see my own site when I tried to surf there. That took all day yesterday, talking with more than 6 different techs. Turns out it is their problem/fault, and we have a temporary fix so I can now surf to my site and check how it all looks. Anyhoo ... We (hubby, stepson, myself, 2 cats and 1 guinea pig) live in the Birmingham, AL area. I've been making soaps and all for almost 10 years now. What started as Christmas gifts of M & P soap and bath salts turned into a passion for CP soapmaking. The more I learned, the more passionate (addicted!) I became. I stopped making M & P about 6 years or so ago when I developed chemical sensitivities. Fragrance oils cause me considerable health problems, to the point where I can't go near a B & BW or Yankee Candle store. Major bummer with all the yummy fragrances available! But I'm looking to get back into it using essential oils with my discovery of SFIC bases. First thing on my agenda is experimenting with natural coloring using botanicals and clays. Aside from soapmaking, I also have interests in herbs, computers and crafts. I've been making herbal remedies and incense for more years than I care to think about. I guess you could say I'm something of a dabbler in crafts since I've done/tried so many different things. About the only craft I could never get the hang of was sewing. I can sew on a button, or mend a seam or hem, but that's about it. I've been using computers for a good 15 years now. Started with an old Commodore that had maybe 2K of RAM, and a tape drive instead of a harddrive. Talk about a dinosaur! I apologize for being a lurker, but hope to be posting more now that I'm getting caught up (I think!) on everything.
