Guest guest
I read the body care myths on the net, showing how certain ingredients aren't all that good. SO can you please tell me a GOOD facial moisturizer or skin care line?( I wrote to the author of that article, and his address must be old...my post came back.) Guest guest
.. > SO can you please tell me a GOOD facial moisturizer or skin care line Hi Diana- Well- you can make your own! I like creams I make with Shea butter, infused herbs in olive oil, rose hip seed oil , jojoba, and rose hydrosol and a little bit of herb tincture (whatever I have on hand- calendula, mullein, usnea...) As far as lines on the market...Logona is okay, as well as Annemarie Borlind(both from Germany...) but the best is Dr Hauschka- but OUCH! on the prices- all organic/ biodynamic herbs- very nice stuff...I like to try to make my versions of their products :-) Michelle
Guest guest
Hi Diana, Just a reminder to not believe everything you read and or hear. Glycerin in particular can be beneficial to the skin, as long as you are not in a dry climate. Knowing about ingredients takes a lot of research for sure. It was those questionable ingredients that got me started researching over 7 years ago and led to making my own skin care products and thus to my business venture. Anyway, there are several makers of fine handmade skin care products on the web. A good place to start looking is www.handmadebeauty.com If you are into making your own then you can customize ingredients based on your skin and it's needs. Any questions and I am sure any number of us on this list would be happy to help. Best Always, Margaret www.naturalindulgences.com ps. Guest guest
Hi, Margaret! You said " Glycerin in particular can be beneficial to the skin, as long as you are not in a dry climate. " Can you expound on that, or maybe post a link or two where I can learn more? I've heard a few differing opinions on this, and would like to learn more. Some say if you use very much glycerin in a dry climate it can actually draw moisture out of your skin because there's none in the air, others say that's never been proven. (As with a lot of things, it gets confusing!) Because it's so brutally dry here, I'd like to be better informed about this. Thanks! Jonee in Arizona (I'm in northern Arizona, Phoenix has had flooding this winter, but we haven't had but scarcely a sprinkle up here where I am!)
