I'm using thistel oil in some of my whipped butters, face creams and such, when I want them to absorb quickly, since it counts as one of the more dry oils. I think the thistle oil you are using must be Milk Thistle - yes? - my notes say " Dedicated to the Virgin Mary - good skin conditiioner for damaged or devitalised skin " Certainly the Scottish Thistle doesn't produce an oil that I know of.
