Guest guest
Hey Linda, > Definitely well put Butch. Hubby was the one left behind. Sometimes > we were separated by continents. Sometimes he had the kids, sometimes > I did. Out of 17 kids, 9 are career military. A salute to you both .. and to those yonkers that are professionals at arms. Contrary to what some folks think .. professional soldiers are far more peace loving than those who call us baby killers. > Today, I was out at Luke AFB mailing some care packages. I stopped > and thought for a minute. this is the first time in our adult lives > that my husband and I have not had to move on an almost yearly basis. > What a change! I hear you .. in 30 years service my family and I became professionals at moving .. every couple of years with the occasional three year stay. During one period of special training, we had to stash all our stuff in storage and moved 3 times in 18 months to different schools .. of course fully equipped quarters were waiting on those special occasions but it was still a bit like hotel living. > Next month I get to meet my newest granddaughters. One is 7 and the > other is 4. Michael could not leave them in Afghanistan this last > time. All he said was that he is carrying on the tradition of > collecting children like we did. I'm getting antsy to see them all > home and safe. Congratulations and salute again. My two cents is that you and yours have done a helluva lot more for peace and harmony and mankind than all the phoneys standing on the hills telling folks they gonna teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, claiming they're sending out vibes for peace and healing without getting off their asses in the living room, and shouting Namaste the whole time. I have an adopted son .. Cengiz is now an IBM Systems Engineer .. makes the BIG BUCKS but it could have been different. Seems to me that them who reach out as y'all have are the real folks .. you showed true love instead of spouting it to influence folks .. or maybe themselves. I got nothing against Rain Forests, whales or seals .. but I think we can make more of an impact by worrying about human folks. > Linda > http://www.lillizard.com/Supplies.html Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
