What do you think of this? Ill try to buy only from those others...-

although I wish my car ran on biodiesel!

Where to buy Gas...

Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It

might

even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An

interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the

car,

you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy

from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the

tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family,

and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil

companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import

Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):

This is a hoax/urban myth type email. You can see it at www.snopes.com,

where they list all the forwards going around and tell you if they're

true or not.

This is one of those urban myths that go around from time to time.

All gasoline that you pump in your vehicles comes from the same tank farm in or

near your city. It is not cost effective for all the different companies to

have their own storage in every place. Everyone's gasoline comes from them and

then add what their secrets are once it is in the tanker truck.

DH is retired from Royal Dutch. Here in the States, that is Shell Oil. We get

a very minor amount of oil from the Arab world. Venezuela id actually the 3rd

largest supplier and they are having problems down there. As far as gas prices.

It is simply gouging and it appears they are getting away with it.

RIGHT ON!!! ANOTHER THING WE MIGHT DO IS TO CONSIDER THE MILEAGE WE GET FROM

OUR OWN VEHICLE. WE TRADED OUR JEEP IN FOR AN AMERICAN MADE CAR AND DOUBLED OUR

GAS MILEAGE...MEANING WE NOW USE ONLY HALF AS MUCH. IT HAS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE

AND EVEN THOUGH WE LIVE OFF A DIRT COUNTRY ROAD HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM IN SNOW

AND MUD. BLESSED BE.....DERIUS STREAM.

OK Class #2 on Gasoline and Crude Oil :)

A barrel of Crude is 32 gallons. Of this 32 gallons, only 45 to 60% is actually

refined to gasoline depending on the grade of crude. The rest is the byproducts

used for asphalts, plastics, medicines and manufacturing products.

Say it is sweet crude, the highest grade. 60% would be approximately 19.2

gallons of gasoline.

So 250,000,000 barrels of top crude is only 150,000,000 gallons of gasoline.

Below is a what if scenario.

Say there are 125 million cars in the US that use gasoline and each car will

hold 15 gallons of gas. That means it takes over 1.8 billion gallons of

gasoline to fill them up each week.

That would mean that according to the figures given. only 2 gallons per

vehicle, per year are consumed of Middle Eastern Oil

This does not include diesel or kerosene.

Is the light coming on yet?

Yeah- that we really need to tap into some other solutions- hydrogen power,

veg oil alternatives(hemp!), plastics recycling...

Yep, but until the vehicle manufactures get off the patents for these engines

which they have had since before WWII, we are at their mercy:(
