I am making a blend for my poor itchy dog! I found a recipe that is

lavender, helichrysum, Roman chamomile and Cedarwood. Of course, I don't

have helichrysum. Is there an essential oil with a similar profile that I

can substitute, or should I just break down and order this oil!?

Thanks,

Debbie

Hi Deb:

I don't know the answer to this one. I don't think there " is " a substitute for

the helichrysum Italicum . It's the bomb in goodies. Would you mind if I ask

you to share your recipe for your dog ? I have a Bichon puppy that we " hope " is

allergic to some dog foods and itches constantly. No fleas, nothing. The vet

told me to use Advantage only on him just in case there is something we can't

see going on but we had to put him on prednisone for one week because his skin

was bothering him so much. He has actually chewed so much that he has lost hair

in different places on his little body.

Jenn,

I don't have a specific recipe, just the oils I had mentioned before and I

was going to wing it with the amounts.

> Is this for healing? If so why not use a little goldenseal?

Please refrain from using goldenseal unless it is cultivated....

also it is way over used- it has very specific indications- not for

colds/flus-

i think www.blessedherbs.com has cult. goldenseal.......
