Guest guest
Hi, I have a couple of people wanting to use L and I (I assume that stands for Loss and Injury, right?) to pay for treatments. I would appreciate any advice on this. Would I only get paid if they win a lawsuit, and if so, how long does it generally take? Any experiences would be appreciated. My lawyer says that the doctors get a letter of protection outlining the procedure. The lawyer gets 1/3 to 40%, the bigger take is if it goes to trial, the smaller if it settles. Then the doctor gets paid, years later and not as much as the insurance pays. Meanwhile, of course, you pay your own costs out front.
