Guest guest
Boris and all- Sorry, really behind on my Email. Is this thread still active? I worked in Pediatric ICUs as an RN for years before starting my TCM practice. As I wish to maintain my credentials and skills I still pull a shift or two a week, again as an RN. I apply some QiGung, acupressure, pediatric Tuina (nurses can touch/massage, afterall) to calm, disperse and strengthen but to be honest I haven't gotten too ambitious as in that setting my licensure is limited. Have had many discussions about the efficacy of TCM with staff tho (nothing demonstrates effect like lightly stimulating CV22 when a patient is gagging on an endotracheal tube and have them relax with no other intervention, ect), trying to expose people who have been taught our art is " placebo effect " to other ways. Anybody know about acupuncture in western ICU's? Larry Moore L.Ac, RN,BSN,MSOM
