Check out Landmark Healthcare, also. And call local doctors to find out

who they provide for. Often this will turn up local insurance networks

that you might not have known about. Here in Colorado, USA, many

insurance plans do pay for acupuncture. Granted, their rate is slightly

less than my cash rate, but you will get patients who wouldn't otherwise

pay cash for acupuncture, or who go to you if no one else takes

insurance. The paperwork is somewhat cumbersome, but if you work out an

organized system, make templates for HCFA forms so that you always fill

out the right fields, etc (or get form-filler software for pretty

cheap), it is worth it, especially when starting out and you have more

time than patients. Eventually, I might farm out my billing to a biller

for a cut, but that's a long way off. Sometime the insurers screw

around, but maybe I've had good luck - the majority have paid when the

plans said they would (except in those instances - like US gov't BC/BS

plans - that require an MD to do the AP!).

>Hey group! This may have been discussed but I searched the archives to no

avail....how does a practitioner begin to accept insurance? With whom do I need

to file paperwork?
