Guest guest
Here is an idea for taking insurance without any of the headaches. How about simply providing a 20% discount to anyone with any form of health insurance? One could do this and not have to file a thing or deal with any of the headaches. The patients would feel they are getting something too. The only disadvantage would be not getting the referrals from the insurance company. But I wonder if the insurance companies could be brought on board as it is something they could sell their clients as a benefit too. Any thoughts? Mike, thanks for the heads up about the discount company and confidentiality. When I get the contract I'll look for that. Christopher Vedeler L.Ac., C.Ht. Please be careful with patient confidentiality as these groups have no right to audit your paitent files. The actual insurance company can if they so choose. Some of these groups may state that they have the right to audit, that is incorrect and you can opt out of that part of the contract by crossing this off your contract and signing it. If you contact them and explain they will most likely agree as well. Mike W. Bowser, L Ac > " Christopher Vedeler L.Ac. Insurance companies have had laws written *for* them in every state. What you are contemplating is most likely illegal in ways that only an attorney could tell you. If your attorney tells you to go ahead, then do so. Do not try it without an attorney, if you guess wrong you will be guilty and you will most likely lose your license. If your attorney tells you to go ahead and he is wrong, you will most likely not be convicted of anything because you consulted him and followed his advice. He is allowed a legal " mistake " but you aren't! Regards, Pete
