Acupuncture on Animals

The Oregon Acupuncture Association has recently be researching the issue of

LAcs practicing on animals in Oregon. Our conclusion after consulting the

vet board is that in Oregon, Lacs can legally practice acupuncture on animals,

but they need a referral from a licensed Vet. Other state rules may be

different.

That being said, in my opinion the best person to perform acupuncture on an

animal is a Vet who has been trained in animal acupuncture. If this option

is unavailable, then an LAc working with a vet can certainly provide

beneficial care for an animal.
