hi

I wonder if anyone has some helpful ideas for the following case history.

patient : female, age 22

diagnosed with endometriosis. taking microgynon, but bleeding all the time,

mostly spotting, with some heavier bleeding. last proper period was mid Jan.

++clotting.

in constant pain and discomfort - enough to cause nausea and vomiting.

discomfort includes ++bloating, borborygmi, cramping following either the

course of the large intestine, or the small intestine. lower abdo pain is

much stronger. throbbing around Ren2. 'Random pains' referring from Liv14 to

Liv12.

disturbed sleep due to discomfort, and has recently been getting disturbing

nightmares.

several admissions to hospital due to acute abdomen. investigations

inconclusive.

also has a diagnosis of IBS. tends to constipation. tries to manage with

diet - usual limitations with wheat and dairy. takes movicol which doesn't

seem to help much.

the gastroenterologist thinks the whole thing is related to extreme IBS. the

gynaecologist thinks its all related to endometriosis and wants her to have

a progesterone coil fitted.

pulses :deep and slightly tight on the RHS. deficient St/Sp. Liv/GB pulses

sometimes full wiry, sometimes very deficient wiry. All positions thin.

tongue : swollen, purple.

so far I have tried regulating the Chong Mai along with points to move Qi in

the lower Jiao, harmonising Liv Qi, tonifying Earth.

4 treatments have as yet to produce any result. any ideas please??

thanks

jason
