I can find nothing on the TCM nature / properties of Guiacum (Gujacum) on Google. I suspect that it is very minor, if used at all, in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. However, Google has many hits on western uses. Óú´¯Ä¾ (Óú¯Ä¾; °K¯Ä¾) Yuchuangmu Guaiacum (Guajacum) sanctum / officinale; Lignum Vitae; Gaiac tree; rare and protected species; has guaiacol (Yuchuangmufen Óú´¯Ä¾·Ó; antibacterial & disinfectant) and guiaicum resin (Óú´¯Ê÷Ö¬ (Óú¯˜äÖ¬; °K¯˜äÖ¬) Yuchuangshizhi); sap was used in arthritis; Lignum / Cx was used in syphilis, " also to such as are possessed with Lepry, Scabs, Pushes, Ulcers, or the like, and is available also to help the Dropsie, arising from the hardness and Obstruction of the Spleen, as also for Melancholly, and the black Jaundice that ariseth thereof " .
